How-To Guide
How to Fix Blurry Video Online
Blurry video is frustrating — whether it's an important recording, old family footage, or content you need for a project. The good news: AI video enhancement can recover surprising amounts of detail from blurry source material, and you can do it entirely online.
Common Causes of Blurry Video
Low resolution
Low-resolution footage contains fewer pixels. Enlarging it may help appearance, but cannot guarantee recovery of missing detail.
Heavy compression
Video shared on messaging apps or downloaded from the web is often heavily compressed, creating blocky artifacts and smeared detail. AI can reconstruct some of this lost information.
Camera shake & motion blur
Camera or subject movement can blur a frame. Severe motion blur may remain even after enhancement.
Poor lighting & noise
Low-light footage often looks grainy and soft. The diffusion model can reduce noise while reconstructing underlying detail, improving overall clarity.
Why AI Enhancement Works
An AI model estimates plausible detail from the available frames. That can improve appearance, but sharpening a face, texture or word does not make the inferred detail factual.
ClearFrame uses the ReCaVSR diffusion model with temporal processing. Diffusion models can also invent detail or introduce artifacts, so compare the preview in motion.
How ClearFrame Fixes Blurry Video
Upload your blurry video
Sign in and upload MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV or WebM, up to 500 MiB. ClearFrame analyzes the clip before generating a free sample preview.
Review the AI preview
Choose a 1-second segment from your video and generate a free before-and-after preview. Compare the result before paying.
Enhance and download
One video up to 30 seconds, 30 fps and 1080p input for US$2.99 before applicable tax. Standard enhancement, no subscription or credit pack.
Tips for Best Results
- Start with the highest-quality source you can find — AI works better with more information to build on
- Short 240p–480p clips are useful candidates for a preview; compare actual detail rather than a resolution label.
- Short clips are cheapest to test — try a representative section first before enhancing a long video
- Compression artifacts may improve or remain; use the free sample to judge your own footage.
What can improve, and what cannot
A soft or compressed clip may look clearer after enhancement. The result depends on the source; a larger frame does not prove that missing detail has been recovered.
Use the free preview to compare the same moment in motion. Check faces, text and edges before paying for the full video.
Low-resolution footage
Edges and textures may appear clearer when enlarged. Fine detail can also be inferred incorrectly.
Compressed clips
Some blocky or soft areas may become less distracting. Start with the least compressed original available.
Faces and text
Inspect these closely: sharpening an appearance does not make an inferred face or character accurate.
Movement
Watch the preview at normal speed to check for changing textures, edge artifacts or flicker.
Set realistic expectations
Enhancement can improve appearance, but some recordings contain too little information for a useful result.
- Severe motion blur or missed focus may remain blurry.
- Overexposed or completely dark regions cannot be reliably reconstructed.
- AI can invent plausible detail; do not use generated detail to identify a person or read evidence.
- ClearFrame is not a 4K export service. Check the actual preview dimensions before purchasing.
Questions before you upload
Can I make a blurry video perfectly sharp?
Not reliably. Mild softness may improve; severe blur and missing detail may not. The free preview lets you judge your own clip.
Is the full enhancement free?
One video up to 30 seconds, 30 fps and 1080p input for US$2.99 before applicable tax. Standard enhancement, no subscription or credit pack.
How much will my clip cost?
One credit covers 300 frames, rounded up per job. A 30-second clip at 30 fps uses 3 credits; at 60 fps it uses 6. Check the estimate before starting.
Do I need an account or a GPU?
An account is required to upload. Processing runs in the cloud, so no local GPU or desktop installation is required.
