Video guide

Preview an improvement to your old video

An old recording may be meaningful even when it is small or soft. Start with a digital copy, keep the original and compare a short enhanced sample before paying.

Start with the best source you have

Old phone recordings

Use the original camera file when available, rather than a copy downloaded from a social feed.

Digitized tapes

Tape recordings must be captured into a supported digital video file first. ClearFrame does not digitize physical media.

Early digital cameras

Short low-resolution clips can be useful candidates. Check color, faces and motion in the preview.

Compressed copies

A copy may have lost fine detail already. Enhancement cannot guarantee that those details will return.

Appearance can improve without restoring every detail

Some recordings benefit from clearer edges and textures when enlarged. Use the free sample to assess your footage.

AI estimates missing information. Faces, lettering and repeated patterns can change, so inspect anything important to the memory.

A damaged tape, severe blur or missing frames may need a different restoration workflow. ClearFrame is not a physical restoration service.

Before uploading a tape recording

If the footage is still on tape, first obtain a digital capture using suitable equipment or a digitization provider. Then choose a short section for the preview.

  • Keep an untouched digital master.
  • Avoid repeatedly exporting or sharing the file through apps that recompress it.
  • Check for interlacing artifacts before enhancement; deinterlacing may require a separate tool.
  • Choose footage you own or have permission to process.

Try your clip before paying

01

Choose and upload a short original

Create an account and upload an MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV or WebM file, up to 500 MiB. Start with a short clip you have permission to process.

02

Review the free sample preview

Compare the original and enhanced sample in motion. Check faces, text, fine patterns and the actual output dimensions.

03

Choose how to pay

One video up to 30 seconds, 30 fps and 1080p input for US$2.99 before applicable tax. Standard enhancement, no subscription or credit pack.

04

Enhance and download

If the preview meets your needs, enhance the full clip and download the result. Processing time varies with the clip and queue.

Decide whether the change preserves the memory

More apparent sharpness is not always a better result. Reject a preview if faces, texture or motion become unnatural.

Download and retain both versions. Output dimensions depend on the source and processing limits; exact HD or 4K restoration is not guaranteed.
