Video guide
Can AI make a grainy video easier to watch?
A noisy clip can be distracting, but removing texture indiscriminately can also erase detail. Compare a short sample before choosing to enhance the full video.
Identify the problem first
Low-light sensor noise
Low-light recordings can contain changing speckles, especially in shadows.
Compression artifacts
Blocks and smeared detail from compression are different from sensor noise. Start with the original file.
Film grain
Grain may be an intentional part of the image. Consider whether you actually want it removed.
Repeated exports
Each lossy export can discard information; an earlier copy may provide a better starting point.
What to look for in an AI preview
Enhancement may make noisy regions look smoother, but it is not a guarantee of clean detail or a substitute for dedicated restoration controls.
Watch for waxy skin, disappearing fine texture and changing patterns. These can make the enhanced version less useful than the original.
Judge the result in motion at the intended viewing size. ClearFrame uses ReCaVSR; this page does not claim a measured noise-removal score.
Try your clip before paying
Choose and upload a short original
Create an account and upload an MP4, MOV, AVI, MKV or WebM file, up to 500 MiB. Start with a short clip you have permission to process.
Review the free sample preview
Compare the original and enhanced sample in motion. Check faces, text, fine patterns and the actual output dimensions.
Choose how to pay
One video up to 30 seconds, 30 fps and 1080p input for US$2.99 before applicable tax. Standard enhancement, no subscription or credit pack.
Enhance and download
If the preview meets your needs, enhance the full clip and download the result. Processing time varies with the clip and queue.
Prepare a useful comparison
- Choose a sample that includes both a face and a dark area if possible.
- Use the least compressed file available.
- Keep the original color and brightness available for reference.
- Do not pay for a full enhancement if the sample already removes detail you want to keep.
